Who we are
We are a growing network of students, family members, educators, and community members in the Fox Valley who are committed to uncovering and eliminating the root causes of inequities in our schools and working to transform our education systems towards liberation.
What We Do
Advocacy and Research
CARES Fox Cities uses strategies from Community Organizing and Critical Participatory Action Research (CPAR) to build a supportive and healing community committed to change for greater equity in our schools. We conduct research studies, meet with community leaders, share our work, learn, eat, and laugh together.
Research
Coming together around a common concern, we strive to name and explore the different ways in which positionality, context, and power impact our world. CPAR is a form of research which positions the people experiencing a phenomenon as the directors and drivers of the work.
Sense Making
We bring together equity-minded individuals to share our stories and experiences. Together, we make sense of the realities that we face. These sessions are centered around hope and problem solving.
Capacity Building
We are ready to work with any member of the Fox Cities to build the skills and understanding needed to navigate the systems they are part of. Increasing awareness of and access to the knowledge and resources available in our community to solve problems is joyful.
